We raised a record breaking £25,000 last year for our school, making FOJORPS one of the top performing PTAs in the UK! This is no mean feat, and we rely largely on fundraising events to make this happen.
Events can be threefold: for the children; for the adults; for the community.
Children’s events are great fun here at John of Rolleston. We run 3 school discos a year, held at the Infant site. Kids love attending and showing off their dance moves, getting their nails painted, or a stick-on tattoo, or having a drink and choosing some sweets with their friends. We also hold very popular Movie Nights, where we show the latest films on our big screen at Junior site, with popcorn aplenty!
Adult nights allow us parents, grandparents and carers to let our hair down, and raise money doing it! Our annual Ladies Night is always well subscribed, and drinks and dancing is essential! We also run popular quiz nights to test that grey matter in a fun environment.
We are a village organisation and love supporting village events. We always love to get involved in the Rolleston Scout Carnival, the St Mary’s Advent Festival and will be at the 2014 Love Rolleston Festival. We also run our own Community Events. Community Day is our biggest and most important annual celebration to our fundraising. We always hope and wish for sunshine, but whatever, the weather, the whole community comes to support us with bouncy castles, BBQ and drinks, displays, stalls, and lots for all the family. Equally, we run small Silver Screen events to show films to our older members of the community over a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake.
Whatever the event, we rely on your support in attending and enjoying with us, or even by volunteering yourself. We’d love to see you!
